Interior design project for a hotel from the renowned Holiday Inn brand, located in an existing building that was rehabilitated by the architecture firm Promontório. Ette was committed to find the balance between the brand’s standards and the surroundings — the city of Beja, in Alentejo. Materials such as wood, cork, wool, and terracotta were proposed, as these elements, used together, would only make sense in a hotel with such a location. The hotel’s decoration reflects a mix of modernity and elements that evoke local tradition and culture. It was designed to offer comfort and functionality while maintaining a connection to the Alentejo environment. The color palette is soft, with neutral and earthy tones that resemble the region’s landscapes, such as beige, terracotta, and soft golds. The use of light wood and stone finishes also helps create a sense of warmth and connection with nature. These colors convey calm and sophistication without being excessive, ensuring a relaxing atmosphere. The furniture is modern and functional, with simple, elegant lines that combine comfort with aesthetics. The design of the bedroom furniture was kept according to the Holiday Inn brand, with the original colors and materials altered to those better suited to the hotel’s location. In the lobby and restaurant, ette had complete creative freedom, following the layout criteria defined by the client and the brand. The main paintings in the lobby, by artist Sílvia Perloiro, reference two poems by poets Florbela Espanca and Mário Beirão, whose faces are depicted on the façade by artist Vhils. Decorative objects were selected from local fairs and shops to reflect Alentejo’s culture. On the hotel terrace, the view had to be the main attraction, so the furniture and colors chosen are as neutral as possible. Overall, the design for the Holiday Inn Beja sought to create a balance between the contemporary and the rustic, aiming for a modern comfort experience, while respecting and celebrating the cultural identity of Alentejo, offering guests a peaceful, welcoming, and sophisticated environment.

Projeto de design de interiores de um hotel da conhecida marca Holiday Inn, cujo edifício, já existente, foi reabilitado pelo atelier de arquitetura Promontório. A ette comprometeu-se a encontrar o equilíbrio entre os standards da marca e a envolvente – a cidade de Beja, no Alentejo. Foram por isso propostos materiais como madeira, cortiça, lã e terracota, que utilizados em conjunto, só fariam sentido num hotel com uma localização como esta. O hotel tem uma decoração que reflete uma mistura de modernidade e elementos que evocam a tradição e a cultura local. Foi projetado para oferecer conforto e funcionalidade, ao mesmo tempo que preserva uma ligação com o ambiente alentejano. A paleta de cores é suave, com tons neutros e terrosos que lembram as paisagens da região, como bege, terracota e dourados suaves. O uso de madeira clara e acabamentos em pedra também ajuda a criar uma sensação de acolhimento e conexão com a natureza. Estas cores transmitem calma e sofisticação, mas sem exageros, garantindo um ambiente relaxante. O mobiliário é moderno e funcional, com linhas simples e elegantes, combinando conforto com estética. O design das peças de mobiliário dos quartos foi mantido conforme a marca, tendo sido alteradas as cores e materiais originais, para outros que melhor se adequavam à localização do hotel. Já no lobby e restaurante, a ette teve total liberdade criativa, obedecendo aos critérios de layout definidos pelo cliente e pela marca. Os quadros principais do lobby, da artista Sílvia Perloiro, fazem referência a dois poemas dos poetas Florbela Espanca e Mário Beirão, cujos rostos estão representados na fachada, pelo artista Vhils. Objetos decorativos foram selecionados em feiras e lojas locais, para refletir a cultura alentejana. No terraço do hotel, a vista tinha de ser a atração principal, pelo que o mobiliário e as cores escolhidas são o mais neutro possível. De maneira geral, o projeto para o Holiday Inn Beja procurou criar um equilíbrio entre o contemporâneo e o rústico, para ser uma experiência de conforto moderno, enquanto respeita e celebra a identidade cultural do Alentejo, oferecendo aos hóspedes um ambiente tranquilo, acolhedor e sofisticado.
